A survey was done of all bike hazzards in the Rutgers/New Brunswick area. This data was then combine with all reported bicycle accidents in the area from 2006. While there were few accidents on College Avenue Campus, most likely because they were either not reported or only reported to the RUPD, there were considerable accidents reported along George Street, a major street for Rutgers-student traffic. The data show that all accidents reported were within a 50ft radius of at least one bike hazzard. These results indicate that their may be some relationship between the hazzards an the accidents. Therefore, the RU Bus To Bike website could increase bike-commuter safety as well as point out safety hazzards to government officials.
